Possible shift of Earth's axis
Dr Richard Gross, a research scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, calculated that the Chile earthquake that struck on Saturday probable shifted the Earth's axis, causing days to be slightly shorter. It would have shifted by 8cm during the 8.8 magnitude quake, this means that Earth's rotation may be affected.
He calculated that if the planet's axis did shift by eight centimeters during the Chilean quake, days would have shortened by 1.26 microseconds, A microsecond is also one-millionth of a second, so we would not need to adjust our watches. He also worked out that the Chilean quake shifted the Earth's axis by even more than the 9.1-magnitude temblor off Indonesia that set off the deadly tsunami in Asia in 2004.
NASA said that it is partly because the fault line responsible for the earthquake in Chile dips into Earth at a slightly steeper angle than does the fault responsible for the 2004 Sumatran earthquake and is more effective at moving Earth's mass vertically and shifting the planet's axis. The 2004 quake in Asia caused the Earth to move by around 7cm and chopped an estimated 6.8 microseconds off the length of a day.So now, right now, we may be facing shorter days....

Projects day (Phase 2)
Finally through all the time and hard thinking, my group decided to abort the intention of doing category 3: inventions. Instead, we decided to go for category 9a: mathematics. Basically our project is about origami, which is about folding out objects using paper. Our main objective of this project is to find out about the mystery of shapes (specifically polygons), whether we are able to fold out every of them. I wont be explaining the other objectives. We will be using rectangle paper strips as a starting point, and slowly using more of them if needed.
We decided to use this field of mathematics as it does not requires lots of calculations, and folding is easy. Now the only hard part is about doing it, which each of us have to do our own part to make this project successful. We have to quickly come up with a proposal and power-point before time runs out, which is very swift. I hope that my group is able to overcome all difficulties and emerge victorious.

Earthquakes
So many earthquakes happening... people losing lives... when will the terror stop?
As you all know, Haiti faced an enormous earthquake in the month of January. Many lives, homes and property were lost during that tragedy. Many of the survivors were struggling, fighting for the resources given, causing violence throughout the area, as the resources were not enough for them. Many people were trap under huge heavy rumbles, causing the death toll to rise day by day. This natural disaster caused many hearts to be broken.
In the recent news, Chile also faced a massive earthquake. Not only that, seismologists also predicted that a tsunami may be struck on Chile. Thousand of earthquake survivors are rushing to the higher grounds, saving their loved ones. Not only Chile, powerful quakes (specifically 6.4 magnitude) struck southern Taiwan, causing panicking residents fleeing from tall shaking buildings. All of these events are just not long ago, when would the terror stop?
As a Malaysian, I feel that I am very lucky of living at such place on earth where no natural disasters ever occurred. Both Malaysia and Singapore are just suited on a prone natural disaster area, which is a very fortunate thing. If I were one of the residents of the top few countries, I would not know what will be happening to me, and I would not like it.
What do you think about these natural disasters? If you are one of the people living in countries which keep facing earthquakes, what will you feel and what will you do? Please state your opinion.

Interview with friend : Prejudice and discrimination. (Schoolwork)
This is an interview between me and my friend regarding prejudice and discrimination.
Andrew: What does prejudice and discrimination is to you?
Anonymous: I think is making fun of someone which is different with you like race, skin color etc.
Andrew: Do you think that prejudice and discrimination is false?
Anonymous: Yes it is false. We should not discriminate other people just by his/her looks.
Andrew: What can you try preventing prejudice and discrimination?
Anonymous: Firstly I will try to avoid from it if possible. If not, then I would have to settle with
the person who is discriminating me, in a polite manner.
Andrew: Lastly, do you like to discriminate anyone?
Anonymous : Not that I know, but no.
Andrew : Thank you for your kind attention.

Maycomb Map (Schoolwork)
This is my so called simplified version of the Maycomb map. It is not as detail or good as it is, but it is worth the effort was drawing it. Please comment on about your opinion about this map.

Multiple Intelligence Quiz (School Work)
The picture on my right shows statistics of my multiple intelligence.
Based on this table, I think that it is partially reliable. My highest score was interpersonal. As I did not know what it really means, I went to check at the dictionary and founded out the meaning: existing or occurring between persons.
I do not really have any conflict or relationship between anyone, so I think that it is false.
On the other hand, my second highest was logic. I do think that it is reliable as I like to do things logically and effectively, not the other way round. In conclusion, I believe that this test may be reliable if you put in the correct information.

IT Home Learning + EOTA + Sabbatical = Total Relaxation
Finally our tests are over! This means we can play, have fun, and most importantly, slack!!! There are loads of activities my school has offered for us students. We basically only have 2 DAYS of school, which is so amazing!
Tomorrow I do not have to go to school due to IT home learning. It is actually having online lessons at home, so I have all the time to sleep and doing my school work at the relaxing way, not worrying about my teacher scolding me (but that does not mean that I did not finish my weekend homework).
EOTA, which means End-Of-Term Activity even adds up to the relaxation. Me and my sec 2 mates are going for bowling during that day, which I suck in it. I predict that it may not going to be as fun as it looks, but at least we do not need to go to school, thumbs up!
After this week, we are going to have sabbaticaal for the whole of next week. I have bid for enlightment, which I think it is going to be fun as we are going to the science center (fingers crossed),and maybe ACE points, which I'm not going to explain what it is.
All of these can be combined to one algebraic formula for the upcoming week:
IT Home Learning + EOTA + Sabbatical = Total Relaxation
It is going to be a enjoyable time...
